"Rainforests cover less than 6 percent of Earth's surface"
Also tropical rainforests have more types of trees than anywhere in the world.
Many animals live in the Rainforests.
There are 4 different layers of rainforests and each one has its own animals and characteristics.
Emergent = Trees that can grow up to 240 feet. These trees can spread up to 30 feet wide.
Upper Canopy = These trees can grow from 60 to 130 feet. There is so much food in this layer of the tree's that most animals in this layer never half to touch the ground.
Understory = Trees here can grow up to 60 feet tall. Since there is so little air the humidity levels are very high.
Forest Floor = This area is completely shaded. A person can walk easily throu the floor since there is little plants.
The forest floor gets water thru drip sprouts, and since there is little water there are only small shrubs.
